Golf Associates is a commercial printer with over 70 years experience printing scorecards for golf courses across the United States including dozens of the top 100 courses. I was recruited to build and grow the courses’ overall marketing presence in the community. Initially, we have developed an advertising-based model for golf courses to allow us to market/sell sponsorships to business owners of small/medium sized businesses.

I became involved in helping endangered animals after reading an article about the widespread poaching of rhinos that was occurring in Africa. The article was terrifying. Fully armed poachers would sneak into the large conservation parks at night and use the light of a full moon to hunt down and kill the rhinos. And then saw off their horns many times as they lay dying. If it was a female rhino it oftentimes meant leaving behind an orphaned baby rhino to fend for itself. This illegal black market for rhino horn was created purely so that wealthy business people in Vietnam could sip powdered rhino horn, infused into water or rice wine. Reading that article and learning that 3 rhinos per day were being killed in this manner was just too much for me NOT to get involved. I started Active for Animals to help raise awareness and educate people to the atrocities that human behavior is reeking on our endangered animals. My hope is to activate thousands of everyday citizens to help in the fight to protect and save these endangered animals from disappearing in the wild. Breaking the Brand creates campaigns to directly target the users of rhino horn in Viet Nam. A recent spike in demand is driving up rhino poaching to a rate 1,000 rhinos (4% of wild population) in 2013. Conservation measures alone cannot reverse this trend, we need to address the demand.We recently launched a campaign to encourage companies to become part of the Join The Crash Network to help reduce the demand for Rhino Horn in countries such as Viet Nam and China.
