As the lead public affairs advisor for the senior commander of Army installations in Italy, I was responsible for coordinating, implementing and managing a wide spectrum of communication duties including public websites, social media, community relations, media relations and special projects. These duties required close interaction with U.S. and Italian, civil and military organizations as well as Italian and U.S. military community audiences.Key accomplishments during my assignment included:--Planned, implemented and managed COVID-19 response for U.S. Army installations in Italy.--Planned, implemented and managed synchronized the communications plan for U.S. military forces in Europe with a tailored plan for U.S. Army forces in Italy.--transitioned U.S. Army Italy command website to new digital platform and readied for adapting content to a mobile app.--served as a grading official for U.S. Army regional full scale exercises to ensure public affairs personnel understood their role in the Incident Command System.--supervised newspaper staff for a biweekly newspaper and the publishing contract.--worked closely with Armed Forces Network for radio and television information programs and commercials.--supervised social media livestream town hall meetings, information videos, and digital content (photography/infographics)--worked closely in the completion of two annual command climate and quality of life surveys of U.S. Army families living in Italy.--supervised and managed public affairs staff of six U.S. and Italian public affairs specialists.--awarded the Army's top public affairs awards for media campaign (individual), news writing (individual); community relations (team); and Army Communicator of the Year (hired/supervised the 2019 winner).

In this position, I am responsible for planning, developing and implementing public communication programs and projects for the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies in order io increase awareness of what the center is trying to do to promote whole government approaches to resolve transnational and regional challenges.This effort includes coordinating and organizing media and public information coverage with U.S. and German military commands, U.S. embassies, and the U.S. Office of Secretary of Defense Public Affairs as necessary.

As the public affairs officer, I help raise awareness of the mission of the Small Business Administration in creating new business opportunities throughout south Florida. I market success stories and other administration news and information to media markets. Lastly, I'm the website coordinator for the administration's public website and continuously update it with informative content.In my role as the district Veteran Services Officer, I have the privilege to help military veterans pursue their entrepreneurial goal of starting their own small business. I provide counseling and appear at job fairs, gatherings, and meetings wherever veterans gather to seek assistance. I also administer SBA's "Boots to Business" program for transitioning military personnel and their family members. This two-day course is currently being held at NAS Key West, MacDill AFB, and Patrick AFB. I believe the best thing a person can do after serving their country is starting their own business to create jobs and build communities.
