James has over 20 years experience in the real estate industry as a practising solicitor, both in the UK and in Australia, focused on commercial real estate and related investment management. Prior to establishing LDSA Law, James was Assistant General Counsel for Lend Lease's investment management business, responsible for the legal work arising out of Lend Lease's Australian c.$16bn commercial real estate portfolio. He has extensive experience in advising on investment management matters, including fund establishment and wind ups, equity and debt raisings, the Australian Corporations Act, the financial services licensing regime as it relates to registered and unregistered managed investment schemes together with corporate compliance and governance matters. James has also acted as company secretary to a number of operational and trustee boards. James also has in depth knowledge and experience of real estate transaction structuring, project management and due diligence for the acquisition, development, leasing and disposal of real estate assets across the UK, western Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Previously, he has held senior legal roles as in-house counsel for Goodman (Australia) and the former Arlington Securities Plc (UK and Europe). James has an extensive and well developed network of legal and other real estate focused professionals across Australia, New Zealand and the UK. James holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Southampton, UK, a Post Graduate Diploma in Property Investment and Finance (PCA) and an Advanced Diploma of Financial Services Licensing (AFMA).
