In late 2001 and early 2002, led the US Lower 48 Conoco transition and integration team in preparation for the closing of the ConocoPhillips merger. From 1999 through 2001, was the General Manager, Petrozuata, C.A. in Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela. Petrozuata is a $3.4-billion joint venture project, which produces and upgrades extra-heavy oil from the Orinoco Basin. Prior to 1999, completed assignments as Vice President and General Manager of Conoco Russia and then Asset Manager of Conoco's South Texas Lobo Trend gas operations. Prior to 1996, had various domestic and international assignments for Conoco.As President, Dubai Petroleum Company, responsible for a large operating subsidiary and reporting to the President, Middle East, Russia and Caspian, ConocoPhillips. Scope includes production volumes of 120,000 barrels of oil per day, 700+ employees and a capital and operating budget exceeding $200 million annually. DPC operates the business on behalf of ConocoPhillips and four leading international oil and gas companies. The President of DPC is the Chairman of the Operating Committee that is comprised of members from each of the shareholder companies and the Government of Dubai. -

Petrozuata is an integrated operation that has developed sustainable production capacity in excess of 120,000 barrels per day of 9 degree API bitumen that is transported via pipeline 200 miles to a new Upgrading Refinery. The bitumen is then upgraded into 100,000 barrels of synthetic crude oil and other byproducts. All products are loaded out on Petrozuata-owned marine facilities to be marketed and sold. Project and early-operations costs totaled approximately $3.4 billion. The project was of one of the largest and most successful project financings in Latin America and exceeded all performance testing requirements of the Financing Agreement in December of 2001. -
