I’m an accomplished entrepreneur, strategist, and board adviser with a proven track record of founding, scaling, and revitalising high-performing businesses. With extensive experience in technology, media, and digital marketing, I leverage my expertise to help growing businesses unlock their potential and achieve sustainable success.Back in 2002, I founded Coast Digital and transformed it into one of the UK’s leading digital marketing agencies. The company gained recognition in the Sunday Times Fast Track and was named one of the UK’s Top 100 Interactive Agencies by New Media Age. By nurturing a talented team and building a strong leadership structure, I transitioned to the role of Chairperson in 2017, overseeing strategic growth and preparing the business for acquisition. In 2020, I successfully led the sale of Coast Digital to Elixirr, showcasing my knack for business development and value creation :)My entrepreneurial insight (or well-timed luck) also led me to co-found compareandsave.com in 2005, seizing the emerging opportunity in the comparison website market. Applying the guiding principles that worked wonders at Coast Digital, I scaled the company to become the UK’s largest independent credit card introducer within three years. I then managed a successful sale to creditcards.com.Recognised as a thought leader (and occasional over-thinker), I was included in the Courvoisier The Future 500 list, published in association with the Sunday Observer, and featured in the Financial Times OUTstanding 100 LGBT Executives list in 2016 and 2017. It’s always nice when hard work and a touch of flair get noticed.In 2017, I acquired Gay Times and spearheaded a strategic repositioning that amplified its mission to champion queer voices, transforming it into the world’s leading LGBTQ media brand. By 2019, I transitioned to Chairperson, overseeing continued growth and negotiating a successful leadership buyout in 2022, while retaining a minority stake—because I like to keep a finger in the pie (or rainbow cake).Today, I’m dedicated to advising and investing in start-ups and seed-stage businesses, offering my extensive experience in strategic leadership, business growth, and board advisory to empower entrepreneurs and leaders to achieve their ambitions—and hopefully, make it look easier than it is!
