Hired as the principal project engineer for Ameritech Advanced Data Services project, directed the design, installation and maintenance of a 250+ node Frame Relay/ATM network for Ameritech Advanced Data Services, utilizing the BSTDX-9000, CBX 500 and GX 550 products. Completed interoperability testing and troubleshooting of customer connections with Cisco Router products used at the customer premise. Designed, installed and maintained the Reporting and Data Collection packages for the network to help Ameritech better visualize their network usage. Worked with Ameritech's end customers to install, maintain and troubleshoot internetworking issues in NT4.0/Novell Network environments. Acted as Sybase DBA for NMS and Bulk stats/Customer Reporting servers. Created documentation and implemented disaster recovery procedure for Ameritech WAN, using full and incremental backup crons created on Solaris 2.6 platforms. Designed and implemented proper security in both Ameritech and customer remote sites in UNIX, NT and Novell NetWare environments. After 3 years of Network Engineering, I left the field group to pursue a position with Ascend/Lucent Global Training Services, where I have delivered both Frame Relay and ATM courses to internal/external customers. Helped develop courseware for both Frame Relay and ATM curriculum.
