Working with in the “Core regions” HQ unit to support a number of initiatives across two regions of operations including:Support the coordination of Mixed Migration activities between the two core regions at HQ level and act as a liaison with other policy and operational units.Take the lead in the development and roll out of projects related to the return of failed asylum-seekers ensuring the delivery of programme objectives within DRC standards and principles. Draw on organisational learning and experience to support the development of effective cross border projects.Facilitate the review and development of Emergency Preparedness and Response Plans in the two regions.

Providing maternity cover as Counry Director.Responsible for all Concern activities within Malawi.Managing a staff of 120 and budgets in excess of €3 million.Representing Concern in national forums.

Designed & managed the Dowa Emergency Cash Transfer (DECT) Programme, that delivered cash to over 10,000 households using smart cards and mobile banks.Managed £750,000 budget and seven staff.Co-ordinated research agenda that has deepened knowledge of the impact of cash transfers.Implemented a dissemination strategy to influence government and donor policy.

Lilongwe Malawi

Managing all support units including Logistics, Admin, HR and IT with a staff of over 100.Responsible for the set up and implementation of Concern policy and procedures.Designed a country specific logistics manual, including CTC/CMAM systems.Developed and implemented a country specific Security Management Plan and Critical Illness Policy.Budget holder for 3 budgets totalling over €1 million.Managed a fleet of 20 vehicles and thirty-two motorcycles.Training national and international staff, and developing the capacity of local partners.Was instrumental in the restructuring and rationalisation of the country programme.

Setting up and managing Concern funded food distributions to over 10 000 households through partner organisations. Responsible for developing proposals and reporting to donors.Managed a budget of €1.5 million.Co-ordinated with Local Government, UN Agencies and other NGOs.Developed and implemented an emergency preparedness plan for Concern Malawi.Undertook the additional task of Partnership Advisor for all programmes.Undertook the role of Acting Country Director for six weeks.

Setting up and managing WFP food distributions to over 100 000 households.Executing an agricultural development and infrastructure regeneration programme.Co-ordinating RRA and PRA surveys for the above.Liaising with Local Government, UN Agencies and other NGOs.Implementing Concern logistics systems and reporting procedures, including the training of national staff.
