Advised Afghan and NATO Government Ministers plus military leaders to produce a highly effective and synchronized approach to developing an Afghan Defence Strategy. Led personnel from 37 nations with a $20B (US$) budget to successfully educate, train, equip, house 352,000 Afghan soldiers, police officers and government employees.

Responsible for developing the operational capability and capacity of 18 U.S. national allies within Southwest Asia and the Middle East. Forged strong relationships with international allies and host governments, thereby producing a comprehensive and enduring approach to capacity building within the region. Directed $50B (US$) in security cooperation programmes to strengthen national defence alliances and bring global recognition and support or regional stability

As the ISAF Intelligence Chief 2007-2008, led the intelligence effort of 38 nations to support NATO's mission in Afghanistan. Created a highly effective intelligence organization in an extremely dynamic environment, thereby providing NATO the means to achieve tangible success. From 2005-2007, double hatted as Director General Intelligence Capabilities and Commander of the Intelligence Capabilities Division in the Chief of Defence Intelligence organization in Ottawa. There controlled the strategic and operational level intelligence capabilities of the Canadian Forces. Evolved defence and signals intelligence to provide Canada a world class intelligence collection and all source analytical capability able to operate in a multi-national environment. Managed national security and intelligence partnership arrangements to the extent where Canada became a recognized strategic leader thereby enhancing national credibility.

Developed the professional standards for other Canadian Army schools, thereby assisting in institutionalizing the approach to the professional development of Army Officers.
