Performs complex administrative & professional work at the advanced level in managing a high profile, very visible division or organizational unit in Dept. Of Health and Human Resources (DHHR), Bureau for Public Health. Complexity level is evidenced by the variety of problem solving demands and decisions for the assigned area of tobacco prevention & control. Issues may be political & controversial in nature and work requires the ability to persuade or dissuade others on major policy and program matters. Director will provide oversight of the division including assurance of efficient & cost-effective utilization of staff, state, federal & privately funded resources. In consultation with the office director and the leadership team, provide coordination and general oversight of Bureau administrative processes.
