Transferred to Chevron’s Covington location as a support analyst for a new suite of applications that optimizes business planning by tracking production and financial history, forecasts, development plans, and calculates the economics of operational projects. Spearheaded the deployment, maintenance, support and adherence to strict corporate security, confidentiality, integrity, and reliability policies. Provided second level support for the forecasting tool to management and executive level users. Also provided informal support for other application issues discovered while assisting these users. Evaluated and deployed a business planning optimization tool that reduced the time required to build the proposed yearly business plan from two weeks to four days. Rebuilt the interface from the business planning tool to the business intelligence system, which significantly reduced the time required and improve its reliability. Reduced the single eight-hour overnight process to a 30-minute process that now updates BI several times a day. As a result, the business can make decisions based on near real-time data which improves quality of decisions. Developed a system to deploy a customized and business user focused interface for the business planning tool that the vendor is planning to incorporate into their base product. Developed utility in C# and SQL to perform routine system checks and automates the building of quarterly reports for the business to validate users and security to ensure the confidentiality of data. Reduced report building time from three hours to five minutes. Analyzed application usage and compared with the contract which resulted in reducing the number of licenses needed without impacting service, saving $90K annually.

Second and third level support for all of the facility’s office side applications and hardware, business analysis, design, implementation, and support of applications key to the businesses success.  Responsible for the deployment, maintenance, support and adherence to strict corporate security, confidentiality, integrity, and reliability policies for all non-production software and hardware. Served as lead analyst of an ongoing maintenance management and inventory system upgrade that was behind schedule and estimated to go over budget. Refocused team, reprioritized resources, eliminated efforts not in scope and completed project on time and under budget. Served as second and third level support for all applications used within the office side of the plant, Office, Windows, Maintenance Management System, Laboratory Information System, Lab instrument integration, etc.

Provided LAN and server support focusing on increasing uptime and security. Designed and deployed the Belle Chasse facility’s first VMware server cluster to improve IT services and conserver resources. Improved uptime from 89% to 98%, reduced air conditioning load by 10%, power consumption by 15%, and decreased rack space usage, eliminating the investment cost for the installation of new racks. As part of a two-person team, managed 50+ servers, including monitoring, troubleshooting, commissioning and decommissioning of servers, and ensuring the data center environment was conducive to proper operation. Analyzed network utilization and received funding to upgrade or replace all the facility’s 25 LAN network and fiber switches, certify all copper and fiber cabling met ANSI/TIA-568 specifications. After this upgrade, there were significant performance improvements, and the ability to proactively monitor for issues. Maintained Oak Point's OU in the corporate active directory, including users, groups, and group policies.

Contracting role as a service desk technician to Chevron for their 300+ workstation environment. Provided application and computer support, migration, configuration, administration, upgrades, and troubleshooting. Led a team of five in a two-month project to replace all 300 existing workstations with new computers featuring a new company provided operating system image. This included the backup and restoration of all data and the reinstallation of compatible applications. Reduced the average issue resolution time from eight hours to six and increased their first-time resolution percentage to 80%.
