He has demonstrated his leadership as a Senior Military Advisor to the Iraq Chemical Corp where he mentored and trained Corp Staff, Chemical School Leadership, and Commander of the first Chemical Defense Company.James is also an experienced planner. He has led Joint Planning Groups preparation for National Special Security Events and training exercises with Joint Task Force Civil Support. He also planned numerous training events while the Operations Officer with 44th Civil Support Team, as well as coordinated National Guard support for National Special Security Events (4 Super Bowls and numerous other sports venues, Presidential Visits, G-8 Conference, and Foreign Dignitary Meeting). He has held planner positions at Division, Interagency, and Joint Task Force levels and provided instrumental support to these planning efforts.James is also experienced in disaster response operations. He has a Masters of Science in Emergency and Disaster Preparedness. While serving with the Florida National Guard, he responded to 10 plus hurricanes in support of the FL State Emergency Response Team. He also responded to Hurricane Sandy as part of the NORTHCOM Situational Awareness Team, providing coordination for DoD recovery efforts in New York and New Jersey.
