Security Officer / PICAs the security PIC ( person in charge) i am responsible for authorising all train movements at Tees Dock Eastern Exchange Sidings and Teesport Intermodal Rail Terminal.The Security PIC is the main link between the Group Security Manager, PD Dock Operations and all rail users including but not limited to Freightliner, DB Cargo, GB rail freight and ICL Boulby. I organise and structure incoming and outgoing rail freight according to Port policies, providing a safe working environment for port staff and personnel during rail movements.I work as part of a team providing security for all PD Teesport and Hartlepool estates which includes assets, goods and personnel. I am required to use my own initiative, have the ability to prioritise tasks and have excellent interpersonal communication skills.Other duties of the role include:. CCTV monitoring, person and vehicle searching, monitoring access control systems, report and recording of incidents, Reporting health and safety issues/ensuring PPE requirements are adhered to, undertaking perimeter and site patrols, dealing with external and internal visitors, maintaining records, updating and provision of reports electronically and working in line with procedures and safe systems of work

MOD guard service (MGS)As the Operational Manager I was directly responsible for the delivery of the cost-effective unarmed security guarding service to the Infantry training centre ( Catterick Garrison) and a military working dog unit.My specific responsibilities were:* To ensure that proper and economical use is made of the Department's money.* Manage the correct posture of physical and tactical resources to manage Catterick Infantry training center and MOD guards Catterick Military dog section. * Liaise with all stakeholders and heads of establishments to ensure the MOD guards are operationally prepared for security incidents in line with the joint business agreements and statements of security requirements.* Encourage and develop innovation, initiative, and creative thinking by all officers in the group.* To motivate, engage and support my team, trusting them to work flexibly and managing them by outcome, thus enabling them to perform at their best. I recognise and value the contribution and development of all my team, creating a healthy, safe, empowering, and inclusive culture for them to flourish, whilst being alive to risks within my area of responsibility.* Ensure all posts and tasks are risk assessed and health and safety procedures are always followed.* Liaise with unit customers and heads of establishments on a regular basis to discuss service delivery and any problems /issues that arise.* Cooperate with other security providers (Military Provost Guard Service, MOD police, Royal Military Police, North Yorkshire police)* Provide head office and heads of establishments with returns when requested regarding staffing levels, personal case work audits and recording achievements of task and other operational data.
