Sterling Investment Counsel is a registered investment adviser that manages over $400 million of discretionary client assets. Since joining the firm at its inception, I successfully created and implemented its investment strategy and operating model. As CIO, I created the firm's asset allocation strategies, led the firm's investment policy committee, and established the firm's due diligence and investment research process.

In the role of COO, I created Sterling's operating model and implemented/managed Sterling's tech stack (custodian, CRM, trading, portfolio reporting, client portal, etc.). This operational platform allowed the firm to scale to meet future demand while providing a holistic client experience.

Member of EY’s Restructuring Advisory Group that assists clients facing challenges that present threats to financial performance and viability. My focus was on distressed creditor and debtor advisory.

Credit analyst and member of the portfolio management team that managed $3.5 billion of AUM, which was comprised of a registered mutual fund and several institutional separately managed accounts. Performed in-depth, bottom-up credit and industry research, with a focus on the automotive, banking, financials, and health care sectors globally to construct actionable investment ideas in the primary and secondary markets. Experience in investing across the capital structure, both long and short, stressed/distressed situations, and leveraged loans.

Artio Global Investors was an investment management firm that was comprised of several U.S. and international equity and fixed income strategies, with AUM of $80 billion (at the firm’s peak). Aberdeen Asset Management acquired Artio Global Investors in 2013.Member of the fund administration team responsible for the application and oversight of the firm’s valuation procedures, financial reporting, regulatory administration for ten registered mutual funds, a credit hedge fund, and multiple commingled funds, in addition to the oversight of the firm’s external back-office outsourcing partner. Concurrently acted as a Portfolio Analyst supporting the high yield fixed income portfolio management team in all aspects; this included modeling trades, generating portfolio attribution reports, collecting and maintaining portfolio analytics, and acting as a liaison for the portfolio managers and traders to a variety of external and internal parties.

Member of the securities data management team that was responsible for the daily pricing of individual securities held within mutual funds and ETFs used to calculate the daily net asset values. Selected to lead and manage the securities data management team’s responsibilities as it related to the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) under the direction of the U.S. Treasury.

I spent six months in London, UK on a strategic assignment as a Product Manager where I developed the first sustainable solution for the use of Interactive Data Corp’s (IDC) systematic equity fair value service to be utilized in the daily NAV calculations for European clients. Following the software development, I presented to executives of BlackRock EMEA which lead to BlackRock utilizing this new service.
