I oversee the strategy, design, NLP programming, Agile development, launch, adoption, training, and support of enterprise AI-powered chatbots and related APIs on a budget of about $60K per project. My team holds long-term responsibility for the Google Chat and workflow automation back-ends powering these technologies around the world. Unlike many internal teams, we're structured as a 'startup within the enterprise'. I'm accountable for identifying the product/market fit through data analysis, user research and product intuition. I receive seed funding and I'm charged with sustaining our group as a profitable business.Working in close collaboration with our UX Designer, Technical Lead, Infrastructure Operations Group, and key customers, I managed a team of 8 overseas developers to create products from start-to-delivery in 2-3 moths. I won a design-pitch competition, beating out 80 colleagues and receiving seed funding to bring to life Esther, an email-based digital scheduling assistant. Esther made meeting planning more efficient for thousands of staff at our 250 international locations, so we can optimize usage of $16B in common spaces and new construction.Thanks to their speed and intuitive workflow, the 15 popular worker-productivity mobile apps that I project-managed easily outperformed the previous web-based versions by a wide margin.I led development from idea to implementation and ongoing evolution for multiple apps including RoomBoard iPad conference room marquee, a video conferencing tool called DialOne that cut our $14M WebEx fees in half, gApprove, a text-based executive approval app, and Roomeo, a just-in-time conference room booking tool. I created PoC prototypes for an indoor wayfinding app, a geofencing tool built on Google Maps, as well as a tool to assist visiting executives with meeting-space management. I guided the development of over 500 apps globally and built an API manager to allow for swift self-deployment of over 1,000 iOS apps, driving 10x growth in 3 years. To increase adoption, I produced irreverent viral campaigns including videos, gifs, and social media posts.

Reporting directly to the Global Head of IT, I drove the company’s transition from web-based intranet tools to commercial-grade mobile apps. I took the lead on building products from concept to completion, including facilitating bug fixes and upgrades. The refined, user-centered apps received widespread adoption by WOM within 48 hours. Prior to the Roche acquisition, I took the helm of our in-house app store, which staged and updated almost 100 mobile apps utilized by 12,000 employees nationwide. I researched workflows and spoke directly with stakeholders to pinpoint and develop 12 native iOS apps, inspiring a development boom resulting in 180 apps built in 9 months. My apps were some of the most popular, including employee lookup app Peeps, BART/bus schedule app aRide which competed with external commercial apps, and campus directory SiteExplorer, built on Google Maps and powered by a polished CMS.

I developed and executed automated and manual regression tests on OS and iOS updates. Working on the enterprise level, I was soon recognized as the go-to specialist for Mac apps, leading to added responsibility for conceptualizing products.

I was able to identify a marketplace gap for an in-house hospital procedure coding and billing app which could massively reduce third-party fees, compliance risk, and human error. To build an iOS app, I sourced and managed a lead interaction designer and a team of engineers, producing an app that was highly secure, scalable, and easy to use. Collaborating with billing companies and physicians, I developed expertise in the regulatory side of healthcare, including insurance claim handling, CPT/ICO coding guidelines, and HIPAA. Using that knowledge, I led my team to create and deliver the Kodiak medical billing application, running a pilot in St. Mary’s Medical Center’s ER, Long-Term Care, and Critical Care departments. Our app eliminated 13% of third-party billing commission fees, reduced bill submission time by 80%, and reduced insurer rejections by 65%.
