Having spent a brief period working for a tutoring agency, in 2016 I decided to go independent as my own business. I offer high quality, convenient and affordable tuition in Chemistry to students sitting all mainstream UK exam boards at GCSE, A-Level and the International Baccalaureate. I also provide support for university interviews and UCAS personal statement preparation.Bespoke sessions are delivered both face-to-face or online in a state of the art virtual classroom whereby lessons may be podcasted for later review. The latter has been used with students from across the globe, including continental Europe and the Far East! I have delivered intense weekend sessions abroad.I take enormous pride in the quality and style of my teaching (rigorous yet light-hearted) to ensure learning both enjoyable and proven. I spent my industrial placement year working as an Analytical Scientist within R&D. During this fantastic year, I gained an awful lot of new knowledge and experience and developed a number of skills, both soft and scientific.Notable highlights and achievements included:- Participating in and contributing to the SBFE R&D conference in Spain;- Developing and validating a new method for quantifying sulphur dioxide content in soft drinks;- Being audited for CLAS accreditation, which was awarded immediately afterwards;- Being responsible for the practical training of the new technical assistant and my successor;- Completing my own training in record time;- Playing a key role in some of the company's most pressing projects.

This exciting job involved going out to primary schools in the North West of England to provide fun yet educational science-based after school programmes. The eight week blocks were mostly practical, hands on sessions, where children learnt about topics such as heat, electrostatics, ecology and chemical reactions.I performed MAD Science assemblies; these incredibly high-energy shows carried out in front of the whole school both to inspired thousands of children to learn more about science, and to promote MAD Science North West as a business. Almost all schools sign up for MAD Science school programmes immediately after having experienced one of my assemblies.
