Board bootup code written in Hitachi SH4 assembly that includes RAM verification. Service software written in C/C++, used to verify hardware manufacture and operation. Custom BSP configuration and creation. The software tools used include Tornado, Windview, VisionClick and Sourcesafe. Hardware tools used include oscilloscopes and logic analyzers. Leading the project from design, installation and startup, overseeing up to a dozen people at a time. The two real-time operating systems that I used were VxWorks and OS9. The applications that I was involved with are Tire Test machines (Goodyear Tire and Rubber) and Glass presses (GE Glass), both using closed loop control for both hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders. The control systems include PC to VME single board computer, VxWorks network communications using TCP/IP and UDP. Each machine’s axis of movement requires unique closed loop servo control algorithms in which to achieve maximum performance. The computer hardware used for all control systems are Motorola VME processor boards, VMIC VME I/O boards and IP modules. Programming MMIs and ActiveX controls in Visual Basic. AB PLC-5 & SLC500 ladder logic. SCADA integration. Visual Basic database projects accessing and configuring Microsoft SQL Server and Access databases. This job entailed both national and international travel for both the startup and servicing of these systems.
