Acquisition Manager
Asset Delivery Team Lead
Responsible for delivering the acquisition of all sites in Scotland and now North of England required to provide the communications infrastructure to enable smart meters (which shall be installed in every home) to communicate with energy providers.
Project Manager
Acquisition Projject Manager working on the EE/MBNL Interim Project, including rollout of EE 4G network, with responsibility for the MSP (Multi Site Provider) portfolio, as well as managing a specific Small Works Contractor (WHP). Close liaison with client (MBNL) and their MSP agents to ensure progress is made on all sites and accesses claimed to enable sites to go into build, but without damaging relationships with the MSP's. Managing WHP to ensure they progress sites to access, complete SSCL's and issue drawings in a timely manor.
Acquisition Controller
Project managing acquisition and build on a major joint project for T-Mobile and H3G (3g network consolidation – “Godiva”). This role consists of:• Close scrutiny of leases to establish whether existing rights allow for network consolidation• Where leases prohibit network consolidation, carry out extensive negotiations with site providers to gain their consent for joint use of the sites on their properties.• Project Manage rollout of 3g upgrade, including acquisition and build phases.• Close management of external agencies who are acquiring the necessary rights for network consolidation on certain sites, as well as those carrying out the build work on all 3G upgrades; • Keeping databases up to date with site progress in order to maintain accurate reporting and to provide a clear picture of individual site progress. In conjunction with my work on network consolidation, I was responsible for managing sites where we have been served Notice To Quit (NTQ). These sites are dealt with by an external agency whose remit is to try to have the NTQ removed, and where this is not possible, to find and acquire suitable replacements so that there is no loss of coverage. Again I am managing the acquisition and build process, including integration into the network and so have end to end responsibility. There was no loss of coverage whatsoever in the area I covered during my time managing the NTQ sites.
Acquisition Surveyor
TCI were an Acquisition, Design and Construction (ADC) agency to the mobile telecoms industry. As an acquisition surveyor my role was to identify and acquire suitable locations for T-Mobile to deploy base stations. This involved carrying out initial site surveys, identifying and liaising with potential site providers and ascertaining their interest. I submitted site survey reports to T-Mobile listing all potential and discounted options, and following nomination of a particular option by T-Mobile, negotiated Heads of Terms (HOTS) with site providers if it was a private land deal. HOTS needed to include satisfactory access arrangements (i.e. 24/7 wherever possible and with as little notice as possible for emergencies where not), and Site Providers needed to agree to sign Wayleaves to allow T-Mobile to connect to both BT and the Regional Electricity Company (REC). I arranged for plans to be drawn up and approved them when they were completed, carried out pre-application consultation, and prepared and submitted planning applications. I covered both urban (London, Luton, Basingstoke, Ashford, Canterbury) and rural (Kent, Hampshire) areas. In the urban areas I worked in I would typically acquire streetworks sites and rooftop sites. In the rural areas I acquired mostly Greenfield sites belonging to farmers or other rural businesses. I worked closely with my project managers at T-Mobile, keeping them up to speed on all developments, and attended monthly meetings to go through each site in detail. In order to produce client reports I ensured that our database was kept up to date at all times. This position developed my project management skills and utilized and honed my negotiation skills.
