Controls & Software Design and Implementation of the feature functionality, architecture, diagnostics, and safety compliance for the One-Pedal Driving and Regen-on-Demand vehicle features present on all current General Motors Electric Vehicles; “Enhanced One-Pedal Drive” was a 2022 Boss Kettering Award Finalist.

-Responsible for a software "feature" within a subsystem of the whole Powertrain Vehicle Controls-Model is maintained using Model Based Design in Simulink-Issue tracking/resolution, change implementation, model improvement, Model in the Loop Testing-C code generation from model, code quality/compile/embedded characteristics check (RAM/ROM)-Software Version control(Clearcase), software release, documentation

Rotation 1 (8 months) - Powertrain Controls Engineer-Supplier Acceptance Tests in HiL bench-top setup for Software Low Level Drivers (LLD)-Software Feature version complexity research -High level research into major factors such as processor hardware variants that drive software complexity -ECU High Level Drivers Subsystem software and version management handled in Clearcase/Unix environmentRotation 2 (8 months) - Powertrain Calibration Engineer-Engine Commodity Calibration focusing mainly on fuel startup/shutdown calibration-Data acquisition using ATI Vision software-Data analysis and software strategy understanding utilized to calibrate parameters accordingly-Dyno testing and multiple development tripsRotation 3 (8 months) - Powertrain Controls Engineer-Responsible for a software "feature" or core subsystem of the whole Powertrain Vehicle Controls-Model is maintained using Model Based Design in Simulink-Issue tracking/resolution, change implementation, model improvement, Model in the Loop Testing-C code generation from model, code quality/compile/embedded characteristics check (RAM/ROM)-Software Version control(Clearcase), software release, documentationRotation 4 (4 months) - Program Management Team - Prototype Vehicle Launch-Post-build vehicle Powertrain software support on ~200 vehicles at prototype build plant-Software calibration flash & configuration on multiple ECU modules-DTC, MIL, and general powertrain issue triage and troubleshooting in high-pressure situations.

My group at Bosch focused on customer specific modifications to Bosch Electronic Control Units and Diesel Control Units. As a result, I became very familiar with the logistics behind the vehicle communication bus CAN and how to modify/analyze/diagnose it. I had several projects where I performed in-vehicle testing by measuring messages over the CAN interface as well as analyzing recorded signals. I designed/presented hardware solutions for vehicle testing efficiency and accuracy such as an in-vehicle switch-box interface. The box saved engineers the trouble of physically setting fluid temperature and levels in a DEF Tank.
