For over 12 years I’ve worked with print and copy hardware so it’s fair to say I’m familiar not only with the equipment, but with its functions and the way businesses need their print and copy systems to perform. The crucial part is ensuring that everything on the network communicates – which, luckily enough, is my specialty. There’s no point in having all-singing all-dancing print management hardware if it’s not linked up with anything else! As a Network Analyst at Document Network Services, my day-to-day role involves the installation of photocopiers and printers onto clients’ networks, ensuring all computers and equipment are talking to each other, and that everything works together seamlessly.As I’m sure you can appreciate, it’s not a straightforward job and there’s jargon a-plenty in the networking world, but I do try to avoid that. I always explain what I’m doing and why, in a way that clients can understand. I’m not about to blind people with photocopier and printer science – as I said, my role’s all about communication!I always do my utmost to help, and no matter what the problem or client’s requirement I will strive to find a solution. I know the industry well, which helps, but also I’m a naturally upbeat, attentive and accommodating person so if there’s something I can do, I’ll do it. As an outgoing, friendly person this customer-facing role is ideal for me, as I enjoy travelling around and meeting new people, getting to know their business needs, and installing print solutions that I know will make their day-to-day working practices easier and more efficient.
