CeoBrandywine Hospital & Health System Jul 1994 - Dec 2000From 1992 to 2000 the Health System consisted of a 175 licensed bed acute care hospital, and several for-profit business interests including a 70,000 square foot building, the Oakland’s Center which contained physician offices, therapeutic radiology, physical therapy and rehabilitation and an outpatient surgery center. Also included in the for-profit division was Sky Flight Care, an air ambulance which supported the trauma center that existed at that time. The health system employed approximately 1,100 full time equivalent employees in all divisions. The trauma center, a Level II center managed by the University of Pennsylvania’s Level I Division of Traumatology, was the only such service serving a population of 450,000 people. The partnership with the University of Pennsylvania was the first of its kind in Pennsylvania. Principal medical and surgical services included general internal medicine, cardiology, pulmonary, family practice, physical medicine and rehabilitation, infectious diseases, OB / GYN, gastroenterology, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery. The annual revenues and expenses for the system was approximately $85 million.
