As a graduate assistant, I performed educator and student needs analyses to discern the level of support needed by educators for unboxing and deploying teaching robots. I led this initiative to mitigate teacher concerns regarding cumbersome in-class aid processes. I further introduced product-led growth at the College of Education by championing the adoption and utilization of Pepper, a cutting-edge humanoid robot. I did this by identifying the product’s value proposition and compatibility with the needs of students. To ensure seamless deployment, I created promotional videos and displayed Pepper on the student open day. On the educators’ end, I was able to garner support by offering post-deployment solutions. My role at Floreotech is a C-level partnership based on my advocacy for Game-Based Learning (GBL). To this end, I collaborated with the company’s development team to enhance a virtual reality product, focusing on the positional-directional conceptualization for students on the spectrum. I expedited social skills learning for neurodivergent students by identifying the absence of positional-directional vocabulary within the spatial environment of the virtual reality (VR) product. I achieved successful product deployment by ascertaining user comfort through learning check-in flashcards. One of the challenges was securing regulatory and safety compliance through the Department of Special Education in the Los Angeles District to prevent potential delays in product beta testing. I mitigated this risk by onboarding the Chief Medical Officer and Chief of County and obtaining safety clearance for the use of the product. Promotion Track: Teacher, Education Specialist (04/2015 – 04/2021), Teacher Leader (04/2021 – 04/2022)Here, I was onboarded as a teacher of English, History, and Social Skills. I took the initiative to establish academic rigor through formative assessments within the curriculum. I employed scaffolding and differentiation to introduce students on the spectrum to various abstract concepts. During the latter period of my role, I used VR and Coding to expedite learning for the students. The success of my initiatives led me to work with the Superintendent’s Office as a Teacher Leader to foster collaboration on the alternative curriculum throughout the school district. I was further able to introduce concepts, such as positional vocabulary, coding, and life skills, among students on the spectrum. I achieved this by gamifying classroom learning, thus developing and fostering communication among selectively speaking students. As a Teacher Leader, I created a process for addressing alternative education queries. Moreover, I garnered teacher support by contributing to the lessons repository.SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS:- Boosted vocabulary by 25% and spelling accuracy by 18% at LAUSD using digital tools to enhance the ULS alternative curriculum, modernizing our teaching methods.- Achieved 100% acceptance of VR headgear by K-2 students in trial virtual reality-based learning in class. - Overcame learning gaps perpetuated by remote learning during Covid-19 by gamifying learning remotely and using VR products.- Demonstrated completion of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) by scaffolding instruction for students at age-appropriate levels.
