About James Ibison
I am a results-focused strategist who specialises in Human Resource and Financial software solutions for organisations. My career began in accountancy but quickly moved into financial systems and IT solutions, always for global companies and always requiring innovation. I originally worked within companies, driving transformation projects using the services of external companies, before I moved into external consultancy to provide solutions for organisations. I believe this ‘poacher turned gamekeeper’ experience gives me a deep understanding of client needs and the ability to translate their requirements into practical deliverables.I have a track record of designing and implementing complex transformation initiatives for clients, stewarding projects end-to-end, with expertise in scoping requirements, planning, engineering, and testing products through to final delivery. My roles involve fostering strong stakeholder relationships to align customer needs to products and supporting the clients through the change management programmes that can be delivered. The ability to pivot naturally from hosting a strategic conversation with C-level to a deep dive analytical discussion with operational leaders is an important aspect of building strong relationships. I am driven to continually improve the offerings and to identify gaps, before designing innovative and practical solutions, using advanced critical thinking.Going forward I would like to continue in a hybrid role of maintaining strong C-Level relationships as well as advocating on strategic initiatives and supporting customers and opportunities at the operational level.
Listed skills include Accounting, Financial Analysis, Analysis, Process Improvement, and 27 others.

Services Executive / Senior Deployment Strategist (Uki)
CurrentI was brought into Workday because of my deep financial experience, to take responsibility for some of Workday’s more complex customers. The two roles that I have held cover the life cycle of customers from the opportunity first arising to signature on contracts and beyond. I am particularly strong at managing stakeholder relationships, from C-Suite executives through to subject experts within companies and I adapt my communication accordingly, to discuss wide strategic goals or technical detail. Customers that I have been involved with include OVO Energy, Society of Lloyd’s, Everton and Southampton football clubs, PGA Europe, Darktrace and Moneysupermarket.Senior Deployment Strategist (UKI) As a Deployment Strategist I work with new opportunities. As a key team member supporting the Workday Sales and Services team in positioning and selling Workday Enterprise Cloud Management solutions to corporate and government organisations. I liaise directly with my clients to configure the packages to their needs, to enable exceptional customer outcomes and long-term satisfaction. It is my role to evaluate the client’s needs, to price up options and to ensure a smooth delivery. The opportunities that I deal with can be both complex and have a global reach. New opportunities have a need for a new solution based in the Cloud and this involves understanding both the current landscape and the strategic vision they are attempting to achieve. This often involves a complete transformation of all their back-end processes often involving a multitude of third-party systems and moving to a single harmonised solution. Over several months I am involved in discussions at both the strategic and operational level. Being that trusted advisor to opportunities is an important aspect of the role.
Senior Principal Workday Customer Success Manager (Uki)
As a Customer Success Manager I was assigned to manage that relationship of customers for the length of the contract. This involved identifying and articulating their needs, understanding their strategic goals, and advising on adoption and changes. Being an advocate for customers with Workday product teams. I always went the extra mile to ensure clients were happy and I frequently identified gaps which they had not themselves articulated. The UK region has the highest customer satisfaction of all Workday’s global regions. Customer satisfaction is paramount at Workday and a core value, and Workday are proud to have a 95% customer satisfaction rate, which leads to repeat renewals of business.
Epm Consolidation Team Lead And Architect (Financial Transformation Practice)
I led and managed a team in the S/4HANA, BW/4HANA and Cloud world, working with organisations which required financial forecast and planning solutions.I worked closely with stakeholders, from C-suite to on-the-ground, to understand the company’s strategic ambitions and practical needs. I then adapted our base product to create a bespoke solution, from designing blueprints through to delivery and staff training. For example, I worked closely with a major private healthcare provider which sought a forecast and budgeting model to evaluate finances over a 5-year period, built up from the types of operations they did within individual hospitals. This transformed their costs, revenues and cashflows to project forward their company investments over several years.Other projects included:• Addison Lee – Systems Architect for a global consolidation and reporting system• NTT Data Europe – Systems Architect for a European group consolidation and planning• NTT Data Italy – Systems Architect for an Italian management and statutory consolidation. This was a specific niche territory which needed a bespoke project.• Department of Transport – Systems Architect for the implementation of consolidation, budgeting and reporting system
Transformation Consultancy Project (Sap Bpc)
Nuffield Health was a client of Itelligence Europe, and they wanted an independent evaluation of the solutions provided by Itelligence, which were in the testing phase. I was introduced by Itelligence Europe to have an arms-length relationship, which is why I was hired by Nuffield directly and not, at this stage, by Itelligence. I reported directly to Nuffield’s group financial controller. The main function of this role was to move the company into a position to go live with new consolidation software. I had to address concerns raised by Nuffield in multiple areas and liaise as an intermediary with all stakeholders on both sides of this contract, always maintaining impartiality. The outcome was a successful launch, with issues addressed to the satisfaction of all parties. This successful outcome led to me moving in-house to Itelligence.
Group Financial Systems And It Manager
I was based in the global head office, reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller for this £2.5bn organisation. Spectris had an ailing legacy group forecasting and budgeting system, and I led an ambitious project to identify what we needed from a new system. I tendered to external companies, built the spec and project managed the development of the new system through to delivery and beyond. This was particularly complicated because Spectris had 13 divisions, each of which saw themselves as autonomous and with different requirements. I created commonality from a group operational perspective, whilst supporting the different divisions in multiple countries. This project led to a transformation of the quality of information provided to senior stakeholders, with quicker month-end reporting, forecasting and budgeting. This enabled group leaders to better understand the performance of the companies, to make critical decisions. Other aspects of my role included managing the global head office IT infrastructure and liaising with key suppliers across the group (e.g. Dell, Microsoft, SAP). The successful outcome of the above projects led to a redundancy process because I had delivered everything, I set out to do.
