I have been developing storage software for over 25 years, primarily using C and Linux. This includes the design, code, test, document, deliver, and maintenance phases. In this position, I have worked closely with members of my group, the customer service, system engineering, hardware engineering, training, and documentation groups, as well as customers and vendors.Working in a small office has afforded me opportunities to work on tasks outside my primary focus, such as development of intranet sites and performing system administration. (And making coffee.) Along with benefits for the company, I was learning new skills, which also helped to keep the job fresh.I take pride in being able to fix complex bugs that are difficult or impossible to reproduce beforehand.My approach on a new task is to prepare thoroughly and execute carefully. It may not produce results as quickly as just diving in, but the superior quality is worth it.With my background and experience, I would mentor colleagues, or write some code to enable them to perform their jobs more efficiently. Their success was my reward.In earlier positions, I developed device drivers, disk and communications controller software, and an early office automation system.
