Outside of my professional career, I have written multiple novels and I feel that the experiences have helped define me in and out of the workplace. While working on the books, my planning and progress had to come from me. No one was forcing me to write and no one was reminding me to put in time on the project. Despite that, I chipped away at the massive undertaking by working on it a little each day and holding myself accountable. In the workplace, that same self-sufficient drive keeps me getting my job done while simultaneously exploring new areas and adding new skills to my toolbox. Authorship has helped make me more self-aware of my strengths in the office and at home.
