Following Erwitte’s Lean journey towards a value stream organisation the Globo line will be the first value stream implemented in Erwitte. Value Stream Globo used value stream mapping from an early date helping to eliminate waste. Quality checks were brought back into the value stream to ensure a quick response when issues arose, and on key components.

Lead and support a wide range of Lean activities in the Hydronic Engineering manufacturing site, Füllinsdorf.During my time as Lean coordinator, I worked with all areas of Füllinsdorf from senior management to shop floor ensuring all levels of buy-in. Hands on training was created & implemented to teach the Füllinsdorf team major key lean learning tools.

My role includes re-designing & implementing a global New Product Introduction process ensuring that new media solutions are effectively used. My other key role is focused on Norgren’s global amplification, used to increase sales of Norgren products globally. During this placement I have worked with several Norgren sites and other IMI platforms to ensure.

Olkusz Poland

During my placement in TA Hydronics I worked on mapping the full picture of TA Hydronics global distribution locating areas where potential savings could be found. This data was then used to map out the predicted spend for the new business mode. Working with TA Hydronics forwarders and IMI global forwarders I created the ‘Erwitte packaging project’ with.

In 2011 I briefly returned as a Manufacturing Engineer for an emergency quality control project. This entailed setting up CNC machines, setting up quality controls, carrying out quality audits and meetings with the end customer. While on this project I increased material efficacy on a key plasma cutting operation by 20% leading to considerable annual.

During this time I worked part time to assist Artform towards ISO 14001 accreditation. This included writing an environmental handbook and waste stream mapping.

Loughborough

During this internship I worked on the implementation of ISO 14001 environmental management standard. Also I ran a project increasing the visualization of H&S issues around the company leading to lower accidents and helping Artform win the IMI CEO’s award for Health and Safety. While at Artofrm I attended and conducted monthly H&S forums at both shop floor.

This internship had me focusing on six sigma and aiding the roll out of Caterpillar’s Production System (CPS). Working on one of the engine finishing lines I was responsible for producing standard work sheets, ensuring that the line was balanced as well as gaining optimal production results. On this internship I worked closely with Caterpillar’s six sigma.

Returning to the company in June 2007 as a member of the office staff entailed working directly with customers regarding sales, assisting with the accounts, working with health and safety producing COSHH sheets.

At power plane I spent three months aiding the HRM department. This saw me organising shift rotas, personnel charts and machine maintenance logs. Power Plane gave me the opportunity to also work within accounts.

During this placemnt my job consisted of my involvement on the shop floor. This ranged from metal fabrication of varying processes to assisting with heavy plant machinery fitting.
