James joined Atmo Biosciences in 2019 as Vice President of Operations after playing a key role in supporting the venture through to its seed funding stage and managing the development of the first Atmo prototype capsule while serving at Planet Innovation.During his time at Planet Innovation from 2012 to 2019, James has played a leadership role managing point of care diagnostics and medical device development programs. Later moving into a business development role providing key supervisory oversight to early development projects, ensuring they are planned and proceeding in alignment with customers’ commercial and technical objectives. James also provides mentorship to local medtech start-ups. Before joining Planet Innovation, James spent 5 years at The Technology Partnership (TTP) in Cambridge UK, where he gained significant experience developing core technology for early stage product developments including inhalation and injectable drug products, disposable laparoscopic instruments and smart orthopaedic implants. Prior to TTP, James completed his PhD where he developed the control system for a triaxial angular rate sensor, after beginning his Product Development career with Motorola Australia.James specific skillset includes:• Strong project management skills.• Program planning and estimation.• Creative and practical problem solving.• Excellent team management skills.• Technically skilled in mechanical design, systems engineering, design for manufacture, microfluidics.• Product market fit and voice of customer study planning and execution.
