Funded by a £650,000 grant from the LDA and managed by the Association of Independent Music, London Connected was a project to improve music businesses and entrepreneurs' knowledge, presence and strategies in relation to digital music. As project assistant I was involved in arranging events, consultancy, mentoring and market intelligence for the programme, along with dealing with digital experts and label's digital departments to help music businesses in this rapidly changing environment. One of our biggest events was Music Connected, the UK's largest digital music convention, back in April.

Working at a radio and TV plugging agency for clients including Rough Trade Records, Domino, Transgressive, Ninja Tune, PIAS and Subpop. Key responsibilities included liaising with producers, record labels and tour managers, arranging and attending radio sessions with artists and ensuring the timely distribution of releases to major national and regional stations.

Working alongside the press officer at a busy independent label, handling the regional press campaigns for artists including The Dears, Howling Bells and Midlake. Building relationships with journalists and arranging interviews, reviews, features, live previews, press releases and guest-lists.

Working on regional press campaigns out-of-house for artists including Royksopp, Infadels and Mekon. Arranging reviews, mail-outs, collating press cuttings...etc.

Covering a wide range of areas at the label including supporting the marketing, press and international departments, as well as taking general A&R and press enquiries, and acting as assistant.

Working as an office junior within the record label, primarily looking after international distribution, and as needed in a busy environment. A strong emphasis on being flexible, taking the initiative and working as part of a close-knit team.
