A risk and reliability consultant to ABS Group with 40 years of experience in lean six sigma, reliability engineering, risk assessment, process safety management, and total quality management. He has broad experience in applying techniques such as fault tree analysis, failure modes and effects analysis, root cause analysis, and hazard and operability analysis.Since helping start JBF Associates in 1977, Mr. Rooney has performed numerous risk and reliability analyses on nuclear, chemical, and petroleum systems. Mr. Rooney is a Fellow and past Chair of the Board of Directors of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and a member of the editorial review board of ASQ's Quality Progress magazine. He has published numerous papers on risk assessment and reliability engineering methods and was a guest editor of the IEEE Transactions on Reliability special issue on chemical process safety.Jim is an ASQ-Certified Biomedical Auditor, Certified Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points Auditor, Certified Manager of Quality and Organizational Excellence, Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Technician, Certified Quality Improvement Associate, Certified Reliability Engineer, and Certified Six Sigma Green Belt. Mr. Rooney is a Fellow and past Chair of the ASQ Board of DirectorsJim teaches a variety of courses for clients, including courses on lean six sigma, qualitative and quantitative risk/hazard/reliability analysis, management system development/auditing, and incident investigation/root cause analysis.Jim is also a Jack Daniel's Tennessee Squire.
