About James Norton

I am a Research/Data Scientist at the National Center for Adaptive Neurotechnologies/US Department of Veterans Affairs. In addition, I am an Affiliate Professor of electrical and computer engineering at the University of Albany. My research uses non-invasive neuroimaging, real-time signal processing, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to develop technologies that will improve the lives of Veterans and others with neurological injuries or illnesses. My present research projects are investigating the use of spinal reflex operant conditioning protocols to restore movement after stroke and the design of non-invasive brain-computer interfaces for the assessment of color vision.
