    Area of research is Cellular & Molecular Biology: The focus of my thesis project was to examine the roles of kinases in the regulation of mitosis/cancer and characterize/delineated new regulatory mechanisms of action for kinases Aurora B, MPS-1, and PLK-1. This cross-disciplinary (Notre Dame Biochemistry Department) and international collaboration research required the development of in vivo/in vitro through-put screening assays to investigated the role of kinases in kinetochore organization and the subsequent impact on cell division. Specifically, the work identified/mapped multiple novel substrates and characterized the in vivo/in vitro importance of phosphorylation for cell division. In addition, this research revealed unique and novel insights into the mechanisms of action of the cancer therapeutic drugs studied and provided researchers with new drug targets for cancer therapies.

I worked with the professor of the course and with student input to tailor the beta revision to fit the needs of the course.In 2009, the website won the the Four Horsemen Idea Competition.In 2010, received funding from the Notre Dame College of Science for expansion and adding of additional videos.
