As Laboratory Technician and Manager I worked the main Hospital Lab I analyzed all specimens that came in from the Hospital floors, ER, ICU and OR, including but not limited to blood, urine, stool, sputum, CSF, peritoneal fluid, synovial fluid, sperm, tissue by instrumentation and microscopy where indicated, along with Microbiology. On night shifts I would obtain specimens as needed in ER, ICU and OR, for testing.As Manager of outlying labs I over saw all POL's (six in all), along with the Technologists and X-Ray, was liaison between upper management and technicians. Keeping all labs up to CLIA, COLA, HCFA and OSHA mandates. Hired and terminated employment of technicians and assistants, ordered supplies for all labs, worked various labs as technicians called in, and enjoyed every minute of it.
