Between July 2011 and Aug. 2012 this was a full-time correspondent position reporting on Central Asia from Almaty. This morphed into occasional freelance reporting for the next 9-1/2 years. On Feb. 24 2022 this changed again. Since then, I've been part of the Telegraph's remote Moscow bureau focused on reporting the Kremlin's war in Ukraine and its impact on Russia and its FSU neighbours.
