Responsible for the operations of an up-scale 506 bed Continuing Care Retirement Community located in Houston, Texas. The community was in significant distress that resulted in the Bondholders assuming control of the organization, replacing previous owners and installing a new management team and Board of Directors. Serious issues facing the community ranged from significant financial challenges, operational problems, sales and marketing, construction delays, broad array of maintenance issues and resident confidence in the community. Successfully led the effort to stabilize and then rejuvenate operations. Responsible for the community’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and leading/supporting the team in rapidly reconfiguring virtually all aspects of the operations. Community went through a planned Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November 2021. I elected to retire approximately six months post-bankruptcy as the direction and needs of the community continued to evolve.

Kirkwood, Missouri

Responsible for the strategy, planning, financial performance and operations of the premier Life Plan/CCCR community in the St. Louis region and which is also the flagship community for Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America.

Responsible for the operations of an up-scale 53-story, 334 bed Continuing Care Retirement Community located in the Gold Coast neighborhood of Chicago. Provided visible, effective and stable leadership during a tumultuous time of significant transition as the community emerged from bankruptcy and the arrival of new ownership and management companies.

Livonia, Michigan

Managed the daily operations for the largest pharmacy in the State serving the assisted living and skilled living/nursing home communities. Served over 13,000 residents in 135 facilities located throughout Southeastern Michigan. Worked closely with local, regional and national staff. Assisted in the transition/downsizing of most internal operations to a new regional HUB in order to improve efficiency and cost savings.

Brecon Village, Saline, Michigan

Responsible for the daily management, operations leadership, financial results, community relationships, hospitality services, resident satisfaction/relationships and quality of care of a large campus encompassing independent living, assisted living, free standing homes and a highly-acclaimed Alzheimer’s/Memory Support program.
