CurrentI am actively involved in the firm's litigation practice, serving as co-chair of the Toxix Tort Group and member of the Commercial Litigation Group. Since my entry into private practice upon completing my tenure as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Norther District of Illinois (1971-1974), I have focused my practice on the trial of product liability suits, and particularly in the representation of vehicle and vehicle parts manufacturers in defending strict liability and breach of warranty claims made against them. Building on that background and experience, I developed a second niche representing manufacturers and others drawn into litigation involving toxic torts, including asbestos, benzene, welding and grinding, diacetyl, and other exposure-related conditions. (Note: The Illinois Supreme Court Rules of Professional Conduct prohibit an attorney from representing that he or she is "certified", "a specialist", or "an expert" in a particular area of practice.)
