Responsible for the Group’s overall strategy in relation to Data, incorporating: System Design; Integration; Reporting and Master Data Management. This encompasses holistic analysis and exploitation of data and the application of technology within the organisation in order to drive business process improvements. The role will requires close working with the Business and Senior Stakeholders, identifying requirements and opportunities to provide:¥ efficiency in operations;¥ effectiveness in decision making; and¥ meaningful insight.This builds upon and expands the existing work in relation to automated Project Reporting and risk scoring via the PBCS system (Project on a Page) based on an increasingly broadening balanced scorecard of metrics. I continue to manage Project Reporting as a construct as the Group standardises and improves the way we manage our Projects and begins integrating additional key operational data sources.Some of the critical areas of responsibility to be addressed initially:¥ Enterprise Architecture and system design / integration;¥ Master Data Management, setting standards and governance requirements; and¥ Business Process Optimisation and re-design as necessary in order to facilitate data standards and capture as well as automate management information, actions and decisions from the resulting insight.To begin with the role will therefore bear responsibility for establishing the firm’s enterprise wide data and information strategy and then will expand to encompass the utilisation of associated resources and systems in order to support analytical requirements.With requirements met, the Director of Data & Insight will enable the provision of a service for the Business that enables an end-to-end process visibility of the key data artefacts required for management decision making.
