Helmsman International is the go-to advisor for ensuring complex capital asset situations are converted into highly successful outcomes.My role was to lead a governance culture re-alignment program for a Defence Force project team. I designed a collaborative and engaging journey for the senior leaders to align to project outcomes while improving the overall governance system performance through innovative working sessions.In a challenging environment, the end result unlocked capacity for the leaders to enable greater focus on the ‘transform’ element of their strategy. The culture shift required meant a strong focus on change leadership was needed through individual coaching of the executive team, development of communication artefacts and a collaborative and engaging approach with complex stakeholders across Defence.

Indigenous-owned Balarinji is a leading strategy and design practice, delivering strategic review and planning, design and communications for Indigenous communities and workplaces. In a Commonwealth government department that was undergoing significant cultural challenges including restructure, employees were disengaged as a result of organisational changes and in an environment not set up for success. Established a mentoring program starting with personal action plans, this resulted in an uplift in employee engagement, increased participation and improved performance.Developed and facilitated an alignment workshop with the senior leadership team in a construction company. To complement this work, conducted a current state review, highlighting focus areas to support their Indigenous supply strategy.

I worked with Woolworths Logistics to embed a continuous improvement approach to achieving organisational excellence. Using best practice change principles to identify focus areas and drawing on the experience of specialists, I developed and implemented strategies to get the foundations right for the future. My focus was on Leadership Team alignment and supporting strategic thinking across the organisation, to get the best from an amazing group of people.

My career with Qantas included both corporate and operational roles, enabling me to bring both technical qualifications and hands-on experience to leadership positions. I began as an aircraft maintenance engineer and moved to Ground Operations before being promoted to key roles on large scale corporate projects in the Change and Strategic Planning areas.I was fortunate to be selected to participate in a number of corporate social responsibility programs, including the Jawun Indigenous Community Secondment Program, which enabled me to contribute to the success of the Tribal Warrior Association’s youth mentoring program. I also enjoyed my role as an Executive Mentor for the Onwards and Upwards program with Outward Bound and the Australian Business and Community Network.

The Go Team is the first to travel to an affected site to establish the Special Assistance Team base to provide humanitarian care in a crisis.I have been deployed to Bangkok, Frankfurt and Los Angeles to provide operational support to affected airports during the 2011 volcanic ash crisis, grounding of the airline and A380 operational issues.
