At the heart of my work is a deep commitment to responsible AI and machine learning, from the Genetic Algorithms I developed for telecommunication network optimization in 2000, through to Polecat’s Responsible Business Intelligence® AI platform used by world-leading companies today.In the Gen-AI era, the misuse of AI must be overcome through innovation, not just regulation. The need for diverse and inclusive teams, working across technical and non-technical disciplinary boundaries, has never been greater. Used well, AI is the great leveler and universal translator that can accelerate innovation amongst these diverse teams for the benefit of all. At Polecat, I partner with other innovators in business, technology and beyond who want to harness AI to protect our planet and society and deliver fundamentally strong and sustainable companies and organizations. As Microsoft’s Head of Innovation in the UK, I worked with the software development industry, entrepreneurs, investors and academia to build Microsoft’s role as a key enabler for innovation in the UK.Prior to Microsoft, I was a senior officer in the Royal Air Force.I hold a Masters Degree in Information Systems and a Bachelors Degree in Optoelectronics from University College London.
