This purchase was made after spending about two years saving money and searching for an affordable example to turn into an Overlanding vehicle. To take delivery of the Cayenne, I drove 50 minutes North of Seattle, WA with my Dad to pick up the Cayenne from the auction (they brought it out with a giant fork lift as you can see in my background photo) and then limped it the 4.5 hours back to my apartment in Portland, OR. With the guidance of one of my mentors from my internship with Garmin AT, I pulled an all nighter to replace the PCV valve in the valve cover and various other gaskets to get the Cayenne running properly. Then, the following day I took the Cayenne on a 500 mile off-road event called the Gambler 500 with a group from Garmin AT. It was a crazy adventure and challenged my technical skills greatly as the diagnosis process took a lot of knowledge discovery and hands on testing. One of my life long dear friends has ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), and over the years I have seen the severe lack of resources for the adult autistic community especially related to vocational rehabilitation. The ultimate goal for the Cayenne is to get more involved with amazing groups such as the Porsche Club of America Oregon Chapter, who I greatly appreciate welcoming me as a new member, and use the Cayenne as a promotional tool in order to raise awareness and funds for the autistic community. This way, I hope to connect my passion for the automotive community with my passion for supporting those with autism in similar situations to my dear friend. Show less
