Within the SPEL Environmental team at AKS I was primarily involved with designing stormwater treatment and detention systems for developments. Using tools such as MUSIC, Drains, Water Balance models and many others I specialised in providing solutions to clients to not only achieve council requirements, but also compress land take, reduce the capital investment and minimize the operational expenditures.Duties included:• Prepare stormwater designs for projects using programs such as MUSIC and AUTOCAD• MUSIC modelling to achieve council approvals and Green Star requirements• Prepare quotations and proposals and design stormwater systems and civil concepts based on client needs• Prepare Stormwater Management Plans for clients integrating water quality, detention and re-use• Follow up proposals with clients from concept, planning and construction• Engage with the SPEL and AKS sales teams working with clients, regulators, suppliers to secure business and develop ongoing relationships• Meet with current and future clients through presentations, conferences and expos in order to expand the company’s customer base in Victoria and Tasmania• Work with clients to value engineer solutions in order to produce more cost effective solutions• Develop client base of consulting engineers, ESD consultants, contractors, plumbers and council capital works engineers

I spent time in the Stormwater and Project Delivery teams. Emphasis was follow projects, in particular those surrounding the water space, from feasibility and conceptualisation, into detailed design and finally construction and project management.Noteworthy work includes:• Conceptual, functional and detailed design for WSUD projects, footpaths, drainage upgrades• Contract supervision and administration• Project management for several capital works programs such as Dobson Park - Integrated flood mitigation, landscaping and stormwater harvesting project
