Engaged in health and safety protocol, together with risk assessment report to deliver task briefings outlining critical site information including risks, highlighting necessary procedures in the case of emergency.Building Structures: Designed an irregular cantilever slab, and checked steel reinforcement design for concrete slabs and walls. Ensured structural drawings were correct and marked up comments. Designed renovation works on a hospital project that included a steel frame to support a trauma lift, a masonry wall separating plant equipment, detailing of connections between steel to steel and steel to reinforced concrete elements, and enhancing existing reinforced concrete columns. Used computer software for structural analysis and wrote up calculations.Building Services: Expanded my skills using AutoCAD, issued documents through different platforms, organised files and folders, reviewed specifications for multiple mechanical and electrical services. Checked that the 2D drawings and BIM model were aligned. Worked to very tight deadlines.

University summer work Building Structures: Carried out load takedowns for multiple columns to cross-check against the computer models reaction forces. Created and loaded a computer model of a 57 storey building. Checked the capacity of reinforced concrete columns. Designed steel beams and connections to reinforced concrete walls to Eurocodes. Undertook background research into a preliminary design of a railway extension, with particular emphasis on the environmental implications of the proposal.
