I'm James, a dairy farmer's son who gets frustrated with problems. I helped grow an aviation software business to be one of the largest aircraft tracking companies in the world, whilst being profitable, over the course of a decade. I'm now turning my attention to a problem that seemed to persist throughout my time at Spidertracks: helping people talk to people. A helicopter crash and the subsequent search for the pilot and his passenger highlighted a problem with the way we find missing aircraft. We put together a simple yet effective way of never losing an aircraft again - simply by knowing where it was in flight. I lead Spidertracks wearing many hats over a nine year period. We grew from a modest start to be, by 2015, the largest tracking company in the aviation space by number of aircraft tracked. I stepped aside in 2015 to open up space for the great team we have to continue growing, to expand the business, and to bring fresh ideas to the table. The process of growing Spidertracks from nothing to profitability and international significance in its niche has taught me many things that I now hope to apply to new ventures.
