Managing development of custom motor and drive systems.

Primarily responsible for managing new technology development within Wire Line downhole tools. Responsible for project chartering, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing. Secondarily responsible for the specification, procurement, and aftermarket support of motors within wireline.• Led project development of new sinusoidal drive to replace old square wave drive in Downhole Power Unit(DPU).• Developed new ceramic capacitor filter board for DPU. Increased capacitance while reducing size to one third of original size.• Led conversion of CAST-F to LOGIQ.• Project Manager for HRSCT pressurized Core. Tool extracts 1.5" core samples at in situ conditions.• Project Manager for HSFT-2 Pump project. Tool pumps clean fluid samples from formation into PVT sample chambers.• Project Manager for Downhole Force Sensor project for slickline. Tool measures impact events downhole.• In addition to project duties, I have written specifications for new motor application, analyzed motor failures, supported other departments within Halliburton with vendor issues, and tested motors.• Obtained PMP certification.

Responsible for the design and manufacture of all Induction motors produced by NOV.Led project team to create commercial Induction motor business, $5M annual sales. Responsibilities included budget, delivery, performance, reliability, cost, communications and processes. Developed new products for NOV which increased internal sales from $1M to $25M annual.Designed 4000 Horsepower thruster motors for rig positioning. Designed large specialty motors for heavy industrial projects including steel mills, utility plants, and marine.Re-designed compressor motor after test failure. Designed DC motors and Induction Motors for surface mining equipment and paper machines. Designed the largest DC hoist motor that P & H has ever used. Directed drafters, developed shop processes, cultivated vendor relationships.Selected and installed a vibration monitoring system for testing. Reduced testing time and data management by one hour for each product.Generated quotations for commercial sales, direct customer sales. Costed products and estimated production lead time based on current factory loading.
