I am a Human Geography Graduate from Manchester Metropolitan University. Planning, Social and Cultural geography are my three main areas of interest and I am looking to make connections with professionals in these fields. My current career interests are in Human Geography and specifically within the field of planning. As I am currently studying and find a real interest within this topic. I also studied planning whilst at the university of Stockholm researching issues of planning within the Global South. Studying a course in planning abroad has developed my understing of urban planning outside of the UK and provided me with a new perspective on planning issues.My dissertation project involved analyzing British-Asian perspectives on Brexit. This project was a culmination of my 4 years of Studying and performing research during my time at MMU, within which I achieved a 1st class grade. During this time I organised and executed several projects which have given me valuable experience and skills within the field. The largest project I have undertaken was a study of the commodification of street art within Berlin, which involved organizing and conducting my own research abroad granting me skills integral to completing my final dissertation project.Aswell as completing a dissertation project within my final year of university I also studying Contemporary Urbanism and Planning, Political Geography Beyond the Nation and Spaces of Culture and Identity. Within Contemporary Urbanism and planning my focus was proposing a research project on the impact of Travel Demand Management Schemes on Air Quality within Greater Manchester, a topic which very much interest me as I see the issue of air pollution as some of the most pertinent of our time. My time studing at both MMU and Stokholm Univeristy has granted me experience within several different fields:-Use of GIS Software-Essay and report writing-Conducting Research projects in the UK and abroad-Collection and analysis of data through several different techniques My preferred contact is jamesmiddleton1305@gmail.com
