After my entry-level training in the Marine Corps, I was stationed at MCAGCC Twentynine Palms, California with the 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment in December 2018. I was selected to enter the Scout Sniper Platoon in February 2019 and elected to become certified to operate the small PD-100 for "over-the-hill" reconnaissance. We deployed to CENTCOM in September 2019 and my team was sent to southeastern Syria. I utilized the PD-100 to help maintain security at our site. Shortly after returning to the United States in May 2020, I became certified to operate the RQ-11B, RQ- 20B, and VTOL Sky Raider. I often conducted night and day operations to obtain coordinates for fires, target locations, target identification/descriptions, and aerial video of training operations for my commanding officers.
