-Labor & Employment Law and Litigation-Human Resource Management-SHRM-SCPI have extensive experience with handling labor and employment law litigation in federal and state courts, and before the EEOC, NLRB, MCHR, and several other governmental agencies.I also have 20+ years of experience advising and defending international, national, regional and local employers on all labor and human resource management issues. Examples of these matters include: discrimination charges; the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and workers’ compensation laws; the enforcement and drafting of employee arbitration and jury waiver agreements; the enforcement or attack of non-competition agreements; and the drafting and analysis of employee handbooks and policies.I have conducted training and presented numerous seminars and workshops for human resource professionals, business owners and attorneys for The Missouri Bar, Missouri SHRM, Assoc. of Corporate Counsel, AAIM, HRMA of Greater St. Louis and many others.Prior to my private practice of law, I served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Wm. Ray Price, Jr. of the Missouri Supreme Court and then as a Missouri Assistant Attorney General. As Assistant Attorney General, I represented the Department of Labor & Industrial Relations, the Division of Labor Standards, and the Commission on Human Rights by enforcing state wage/hour laws and discrimination laws. I also worked in Washington, D.C. on legislative issues for the late Missouri Governor Mel Carnahan and taught Trial Advocacy at Saint Louis University as an Adjunct Professor.I have earned the SHRM-SCP designation, achieved a Martindale-Hubbell “AV” rating, and appear on the Super Lawyers list of “Top Employment and Labor Attorneys” for 2008 - present as well as the 2010 - present editions of The Best Lawyers in America for labor and employment law (including its St. Louis Litigation - Labor and Employment "Lawyer of the Year" in 2016).
