Enrolled in professional flight training representing the Forces to Flyers initiative. The Initiative offers flight training for a select number of eligible veterans. This three-year research initiative is led by the U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT) and its Volpe National Transportation Systems Center. The research initiative will study pathways for entering the pilot workforce, identify barriers to pilot training and employment, and implement and evaluate a demonstration initiative that will provide flight training to veterans interested in becoming airline pilots.

The reason for the break in employment, my family and I wanted to travel this great country while we had the time and health to see all the sights and meet great people. Our goal was to visit all the lower continental US National Parks and to see as much as possible in between the parks. We were full-time residents to our 5th wheel RV for just over a year and got to see and experience a lot. Not enough time to get everything in, will definitely return to this type of traveling someday after retiring for good. Was definitely living the dream!

Planed, organized and managed the maintenance actions of 205 personnel sustaining 26 F-22 Raptor aircraft and associated support equipment valued more than $3.4B. Provided leadership and management supporting the generation of 4,000 sorties for the $26M annual flying hour program. Lean principle trained as an Air Force Smart Operations-21 facilitator. Qualified to clear all Red-X aircraft grounding systems except for the Egress system and performed aircraft Exceptional Release duties using the Portable Maintenance Aid.

Responsible for the management, training and career development of 60 assigned personnel. Planned, organized, and managed duty schedules to support aircraft maintenance activities and the $26M annual flying hour program. Attended and participated in daily Aircraft Maintenance Unit production meetings to review aircraft status and meet the daily flying in the orientation and build-up of 20 F-22 aircraft valued at over $3B. Inspected maintenance performed, resolved problems, interpreted technical publications and managed technical order data change requests. Reviewed and evaluated deficiency reports, quality assurance and other maintenance management production reports to determine and initiate action. Reviewed and ensured all aircraft records, delayed discrepancies and Integrated Maintenance Information System entries were complete and accurate. Performed aircraft Impoundment Official duties and was the number one on-call flight line Production Superintendent. Qualified to clear Red-X aircraft grounding avionics systems and performed aircraft Exceptional Release duties using the Portable Maintenance Aid.

Provided coordination and disposition of F-22 Aircraft and F119 Engine Technical Order Data (TOD) and operational deficiencies through multiple contractors. Validated, verified and approved Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO) using the Portable Maintenance Aid (PMA). Furnished on-site interpretation and recommendations of operational reliability, maintainability, and supportability requirements. Evaluated suitability of Integrated Maintenance Information System (IMIS) and Technical Order Data interface. Supported the Raptor Support Team (RST) 24-hour hotline for gaining and operational unit requirements.

Identified technical and specification shortfalls on the F-22 weapons delivery platform. Inspected integral systems components including Common Integrated Processors (CIP), Inertial Navigation System (INS), Communications, Navigation, Identification (CNI), Radar, Stores Management System (SMS), Electronic Counter Measures (ECM) systems, Missile Launch Detectors (MLD), Controls and Displays, Flight Control System (FLCS), Integrated Vehicle Subsystem Controller (IVSC), Power Distribution Centers (PDC) and Operational Flight Programs (OFP).
