  I have spent the majority of my career here at EMA as a designer of electrical and lighting systems for schools, colleges, churches, fire stations, civic centers, shelters, stadiums, libraries and other public buildings. I started in drafting and then moved to design, specification writing, project management and now I am department head. I obtained my PE license in 2008. I make site visits to analyze mechanical, electrical, lighting and plumbing installations. I perform facility system assessments for renovation projects and additions and make recommendations for improvement and to bring existing installations up to code. I research changes to the upcoming NEC and IECC and teach others what I learn. I have designed and maintain software that tracks luminaires for lighting design. I designed and maintain software we use to calculate electrical loads for panels. I have written several lighting and electrical specifications to the current CSI format. I am developing documentation for all design processes to find bottlenecks, simplify design, reduce unnecessary steps and eliminate errors. I have experience designing specialty systems in areas such as central plants, underground primary loops, Career & Technology & Engineering centers, EMS service centers, car dealerships, small NOC centers, natatoriums, veterinary clinics, etc. I am competent in AutoCAD, REVIT, MS Office 365, AGI32 and learning, Sharepoint, & Photoshop Elements.As a manager, I also make time available to answer all design and technical questions for the five production teams I lead. I am learning how to keep my emotions in check, keep a good eye on the big picture and I’m learning how to listen. I strive every day to exemplify excellence, teamwork and integrity.
