Working with the Mitigating Wildfire Project, I work to build dialogue amongst agencies, researchers, stakeholders and practitioners working in the field of wildfire resilience and mitigation in British Columbia. In this position, I lead the local programming on local communities and engaging the forest industry. I also support in program management and policy oriented programming.

I work as a research assistant under Dr. Tristan Pearce and conducting research on wildfire vulnerability and resilience in the Robson Valley. Through this, I have planned, developed and conducted a research throughout the Robson Valley. I am currently working with the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George to fund and distribute over $40000 worth of fire sprinklers to rural residents.

I worked as a Teaching Assistant for a second year Weather and Climate course. My role is to lead weekly labs and presentations, demonstrate data collection, facilitate class activities and grade submitted work.

Worked with Dr. Sinead Earley as a Teaching Assistant for an Environmental Citizenship to 40 students. My primary work was class participation and grading.

My duties often included- Managing the safety and operational decisions for my crew as well as additional resources including contract fallers, heavy equipment, and other firefighters- Working in remote locations with helicopters, heavy equipment, radio communication, complex safety protocols.-Acting as the incident commander for small wildfires with up to 20 staff and managing up to 65 individuals when managing divisions of larger incidents. - Performing public outreach to hostile residents during complex fire situations - Performing community outreach through providing wildfire training to Indigenous bands, rural community groups and school presentations-Developing, organising and presenting both field and class-based training and development to upwards of thirty fire crew members throughout the fire season Show less

Performing a number of maintenance tasks around campus on a part time basis. Currently a snow removal team leader. While working at this position, I have performed a number of tasks including residence room maintenance, landscaping, construction and destruction of small structures as well as inventory of maintenance supplies.

Built paver patios, rock and Allen block walls as well as a number of other rock and concrete landscaping projects. This job required physical work outside for 10-12 hour days for the entire summer. This job included the use of many landscaping hand tools as well as construction equipment including plate tampers and concrete mixing.

Built and maintained trails for the 2013 summer. Included building tread, brushing and clearing trail and planting posts. Included significant use of hand tools including Pulaski, McLeod Fire Rake, Pole Saw, Brush Saw, Shovel, Rake, etc…

Worked in sales of sports equipment as well as cleaning and merchandising of product. Included a strong emphasis on organisation, communication and teamwork.
