Originally hired to write SEO-friendly descriptions of hotels and resorts, I transitioned into advertising and marketing, first in a supporting role in the Art Department, then as the lead (and lone) copywriter on a marketing team with an annual advertising budget of $25 million supporting 160+ store locations. In this role I wrote copy for print, radio, TV, digital, direct mail, and in-store advertising; managed the company's Facebook and Twitter accounts; acted as a public relations and media contact; acted as a producer on radio and TV commercials; worked with several high profile brands including Disney and Sandals resorts.

As a NYC Correspondent, I attended press screenings of upcoming films, wrote reviews, and conducted interviews with actors and filmmakers (Ed Norton, Christian Bale, Ben Kingsley, Heath Ledger, and James Franco, to name a few). I also attended events like the Sundance Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, and New York City Comic Convention. One of my reviews is quoted on the DVD cover for the Russian sci-fi blockbuster Day Watch.

Responsible for managing a small team of 2-5 people in day-to-day store operations, balancing the safe and tills, and closing up shop for the night. Great company to work for, with a great benefits package to part-time employees (very helpful for someone breaking into freelance work). I also made a ton of friends working here.
