Nominated to complete the Preparing for Management in-house training programme.Undertook training in Recruitment, Selection and Essential Interview Skills to support the Head of Management Information Systems in recruiting new members of staff. This led to being on the interview panel and successfully recruiting three members of staff, two of which are still working at the college.Carried out appraisals for seven members of the team.Effective member of a team; re-roomed scheduled classes during construction work.Implemented with Capita FHE the automation of EMA payments through the MIS system 'UNIT-e'. West Suffolk College was one of the first colleges in the country to fully implement electronic payments directly from UNIT-e.Improved the departments internal SharePoint site making it more user-friendly and structured. This involved creating several sub-sites and ensuring that the content was relevant and up-to-date.Created user-friendly forms in Microsoft Publisher to collect student data relating to the Education Maintenance Allowance scheme.Took the lead on generating Unique Learner Numbers for learners at the college. The government will only release funding for learners that are allocated a ULN. The awarding bodies are also now heavily using ULNs to register candidates so it is really important that each learner has a number.Deputised for the system administrator to ensure that the database and related software is available for end users. Typical duties included ensuring that critical services were run so that end users could complete their tasks and creating new user accounts on the UNIT-e software.Liaised with internal and external IT support teams in case of system failures with the system administrator was absent.

Processed gas cylinder customer orders on the in-house customised JD Edwards platform 'OneWorld'.Scheduled deliveries and managed driver workloads.Used Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word to prepare banking spreadsheets and mail-merged customer correspondence.Liaised with sales field staff to input new customer details onto the company database and set up prices.Used CRM software to track customer accounts and resolve queries.Liaised with members of other departments to ensure customers had uninterrupted gas supplies.
